Linking a Smart Card to Your UseTransit Account
Quick answer
Add a transit account, enter your smart card ID, then the Verification Code (also called an Activation Code) printed on the card, and give the card a nickname.
- Select the plus (+) icon in the bottom-right corner, or choose Add New Transit Account.
- Enter the smart card ID and click Next.
- Enter the Verification Code found on your smart card. On some cards this is called an Activation Code, and it is typically 4 to 5 digits.
- Set a nickname for the card, then click Next.
Important: If your smart card has no Verification Code or Activation Code, contact your transit agency for a temporary Verification Code. Have your smart card ID ready before you contact them.
