Give your riders the tools big cities have
UseTransit is the rider platform from TransitFare: Transit Alerts by email and text, online fares, live vehicle tracking, and schedules, all in one branded rider page and app. Built for agencies running 10 to 150 vehicles.
The layer your riders actually touch
When your agency runs on TransitFare, UseTransit is the rider layer. Riders subscribe to Transit Alerts for the routes and stops they ride, delivered by email and, where you enable it, text. They buy passes and reload smart cards online instead of lining up at a counter. Where your fleet publishes real-time data, they watch their vehicle move on the map here and in the UseTransit app. And your agency gets a ready-made rider page on this site, with current alerts, routes, and fares kept in sync automatically.

One alert, every channel
Your team creates one alert in the TransitFare Cloud dashboard, and it publishes at the same moment to your email and optional SMS subscribers, to Google Maps and Apple Maps through your GTFS-Realtime feed, to your website widget, to your social accounts, and to your rider page here. All of it runs on TransitFare Cloud, the same platform that has processed tens of millions of fare validations, powered vehicle fleets, and run with no unplanned downtime across 2023 to 2025. Transit Alerts is the newer product; the platform carrying it has been in production since 2012. When a detour hits at rush hour, the alert goes out.
Built for agencies your size
TransitFare was founded in 2012 to serve small and mid-sized agencies, not as an afterthought to an enterprise platform. Automated fare collection, real-time CAD/AVL, Transit Alerts, passenger counting, and GTFS publishing come from one vendor on one cloud platform, with deployments measured in weeks. The more modules your agency runs, the more UseTransit does for your riders, and over 90 percent of customers expand to additional modules after their first deployment.

Common questions from agencies
What is UseTransit?
UseTransit is the rider-facing platform from TransitFare. It gives your riders Transit Alerts, online fares, live vehicle tracking, and schedules in one branded rider page and app, kept in sync with your agency automatically.
Who is UseTransit built for?
Small and mid-sized transit agencies, typically running 10 to 150 vehicles.
How do riders receive Transit Alerts?
By email and, where you enable it, text, for the specific routes and stops each rider subscribes to. The same alert also appears in Google Maps and Apple Maps through your GTFS-Realtime feed, on your website widget, and on your rider page.
Can we use Transit Alerts without the full platform?
Yes. Transit Alerts works standalone, whether or not you use any other TransitFare service.
How long does it take to go live?
Deployments are measured in weeks, and Transit Alerts can be live in as little as 4 weeks.
How do we get pricing or a demo?
Pricing depends on the modules you run and your fleet size. Schedule a demo on transitfare.com and the team will walk you through it.
